In classes, I’ve challenged myself to delve deep into engineering, prioritizing taking electives that emphasize hands on experience, such as stress testing, strain gauge and load cell analysis, fabrication, manufacturing, CAD, and more.
Outside of class, I served as an officer for Notre Dame’s Themed Entertainment Association, a student group aimed at helping its members develop professionally, for three years. In the ‘23-’24 academic year, I had the privilege of serving in executive leadership as the club’s Vice President. I currently work in a mentorship role, helping guide the new administration in an unofficial capacity.
As part of TEA, I’ve researched and organized trips to various professional conferences, including SITE, the IAAPA Expo, and ASTM F24 Conferences.
I also strive to be a well-rounded engineer and person by seeking experiences beyond the school year.
In the summer of 2023, I studied abroad in London, England, where I had the opportunity to broaden both my cultural and academic education, learning creative, visual programming through the Processing software, as well as Machine Learning principles in Python.
I also prioritize volunteer work to help give back to the themed entertainment industry, while simultaneously developing my understanding of professional engineering standards.
As part of this goal, I have been attending ASTM F24 Conferences since 2022, and am the lead student volunteer for the Global Harmonization Task Group. In this capacity, I’ve researched, analyzed, and organized data concerning international engineering standards to help make the industry safer around the world!
