Hello!

I’m Caitlin Wilkinson, a senior Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design student from the University of Notre Dame, graduating May 2025. I’ve always been interested in making the fantastical practical, and that unique combination led me to pursue the dual degree program. It’s my goal to take that ambition and apply it to my professional life- learning about cutting edge technology and how it can be applied to storytelling and human-centered experiential design.

Outside of class, I serve as the Vice President of Notre Dame’s Themed Entertainment Association, a student group aimed at helping its members develop professionally.

As part of TEA, I’ve researched and organized trips to various professional conferences, including SITE, the IAAPA Expo, and ASTM F24. The latter of which I now work with as a task group volunteer for Global Harmonization.

In classes, I’ve challenged myself to delve deep into engineering, prioritizing taking electives that emphasize hands on experience, such as stress testing, strain gauges, fabrication, complex CAD skills, and more.

I also strive to be a well-rounded engineer and person by seeking experiences beyond the school year.

For the two summers of 2021 and 2022 I interned at Cameron Engineering and Associates, LLC, where I gained first hand experience with professional engineering.

And last summer, 2023, I studied abroad in London, England, where I had the opportunity to broaden both my cultural and academic education, learning creative, visual programming through the Processing software, as well as Machine Learning principles in Python.

I’d Love to Connect!

I’m always looking for opportunities to grow as a designer and an engineer.
